Currently, Doug Stevenson is enjoying being his own boss and building his own company from the ground up. He founded Chickadee Equity LLC. in 2019, a private equity firm located in Bowdoinham, Maine. This company has allowed Doug to learn more about real estate investing while helping local investors secure deals and revitalize properties. He enjoys getting to help real estate deals go through by strategically choosing projects to get involved in. Thus far his business has grown primarily through word-of-mouth referrals and partnerships with local real estate brokers, but he is ready to start expanding his reach and market to a wider audience. Being an entrepreneur and building his own company has come with its fair share of challenges, but he is loving putting his skills to work in this context.
Before founding Chickadee Equity, Doug Stevenson spent nearly a decade working as a financial executive in the service industry. As the Chief Financial Officer and Co-President of Modern Pest Services, Doug helped build and develop a highly effective team that served residential and commercial clients across New England. By the time he stepped away to pursue his interest in private equity, Modern Pest Services was ranked among the top 50 largest pest management firms in the United States. Working in the pest control industry, Doug built valuable experience in providing excellent customer service and managing a company responsibly. These skills have translated well into his new venture, helping him build profitable business relationships and craft a sustainable business model. Whatever he is working on, Doug enjoys developing high-performing teams, managing the executive functions of businesses, and all of the other day-to-day challenges of businesses.
